Yes — Italy recognizes citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis) with no generational limit, as long as the line was not broken by naturalization before the birth of the next Italian-born ancestor. This is one of the most accessible citizenship-by-descent programs in the world.
Processing times vary enormously: some consulates process applications in 1-2 years, others have backlogs of 5-7 years. The 2024 jure sanguinis reform capped recognition at 2 generations for new applicants, so check the current rules.
